I wanted to share some promising news that was included in today's AAFA (American Apparel and Footwear Association) multibrief news letter.

Retail Sales — Apparel and Footwear Sales Rise in January According to the U.S. Census Bureau's February 14 release of January 2012 Advanced Monthly Sales , seasonally adjusted retail sales at U.S. clothing and clothing accessories stores, which includes shoe stores, did not change from December to January, but rose 5.3% from January 2011. January seasonally adjusted retail sales at U.S. department stores grew by 1.0% from December and also grew 1.5% from January 2011 sales. January seasonally adjusted retail sales at all U.S. general merchandise stores (which includes discount stores like Kohl's, Target and Wal-Mart as well as regular department stores) rose 2.0% from December and also increased 5.8% over January 2011. January overall retail sales increased 0.4 percent from December, and 5.8 percent from January 2011. ( Nate Herman)

We hope to continue to see increases over 2011 in retail sales. A rise in sales can mean a rise in e-commerce volumes, and we are committed to ensuring our customers' orders are filled accurately and shipped on time, without fail!
