E commerce Retailers Aim to Shorten Fulfillment Time Capture Last minute Sales

A new survey from retail strategy firm Kurt Salmon demonstrates that e-commerce retailers areunder increasing pressure to process and ship holiday orders quickly. In addition, a greater number of retailers plan to offer free shipping during the holiday season or year-round.

The survey also reveals retailers are not letting last year’s delivery problems prevent them from targeting last-minute shoppers. The survey shows half of retailers plan to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery for orders placed before December 20 – an increase from last year.

Have retailers taken steps to avoid repeating the problems of the past (including steps described in our free guide, Surviving the Holiday Shipping Crunch)? Or are they doing whatever it takes to compete? Whatever the reason, many are confident they can get orders to customers on time.
